News From Sarawak

SARAWAK TRIP - JUNE 9TH - 11TH 2000

Once again JAM and Sabah UPC , teamed up to do the work of the Lord. This time the place was in Kuching and the team , Bro. Moncy from JAM , myself , bro. Yong , his wife , Sis. Rosnah and Sis. Florence from Sabah. Our ‘backup’ team or rather the ‘frontline’ team were the faithful intercessors at JAM , Sabah, K.L., even the U.S.

The first night service was in Kuching city , held in a hotel. The Lord poured out His Spirit and 5 were filled with Holy Ghost. An elderly woman who was virtually carried into the service was miraculously healed and she immediately sat up, then stood up and walked initially with help and then eventually without any help, she walked around the auditorium as the people worshipped the Lord rejoicing in thanksgiving.

The next day , Sat. morning , we had special session with the ministers whilst Sis. Florence had a session with the youth. In the evening we went to Kg. Sigok where we had service in the Community hall and 7 were filled the Holy Ghost , including one man who had been seeking for the last 12 yrs. or so.

The last day , Sunday morning , we were in Kg. Sungai Riset, where bro. Moncy taught 2 sessions - importance of reading and meditating God’s Word - Gifts of the Spirit . After which the church was asked to come forward for prayer if they coveted the Spiritual Gifts. The whole congregation stood on line to be prayed for, including the children as the anointing of God came down upon everyone present. A young boy was filled with the Holy Ghost as he was prayed for.

In the afternoon we had a teaching session with the men while sis. Florence had a session with the Sunday school teachers. Eight were baptized that afternoon in the precious name of Jesus ( including the wife of the village head ). In the evening the newly built church building was dedicated. Bro Moncy ministered and once again we had a great move of God’s Spirit and 4 were filled with the Holy Ghost. About 80 were present in the service.

We thank the Lord for the pastors in Sarawak who are giving themselves sacrificially for His Majesty’s service.

We want to thank JAM for their support, the Malaysian church for their S.O.S. and Alexandria , JAM and all those who contributed to the cost of building the Sanctuary in Kg. Sg. Riset. May God Bless you richly.
